What is DPS?

The Department of Public Safety is the largest department within GSRP. They consist of the Motor Compliance Division, the Highway Enforcement Division, and the GSRP Motor Unit. If you join, you will become multiskilled and participate in all three certifications!

How do I join DPS?

All you have to do is attend a training in the DPS discord under "Training Academy" (no application required) Executive officers host trainings daily so there is no need to beg them by PING/DM.

How do I get promoted to Executive Officer?

You will need to apply to one specific department. Whether it be MCD, motor, or heat You will then be excused from maintaining logs in all of them. You have to apply via the link on the documents page and follow the questions. You need to have all three certifications and have been an officer for at least 30 days. Also, in order to fulfill your duties as an executive officer, you must be a lieutenant or higher in the main PD.

Do MCD need a reason to stop a CMV?

No. MCD does not need a reason to stop a Commercial Vehicle. It is our job to inspect CMV's to ensure they are roadworthy and safe for the roadway.

How many units can be active at once?

All three certifications in DPS are restricted to 2 units per each RTO. This applies to the south, north, and highway RTO with no exceptions.

What is the Slow Down or Move Over law?

This is a law in place to protect LEO's. When an emergency vehicle is stationary with lights on in the emergency lane, you are required to slow down to half the posted speed limit, if you are able to then you can also move over to the secondary lane and maintain your speed.
